Double Bass/Harmonica Collage

Double Bass/Harmonica Collage _Feb 12
As I was drinking my (third) cup of filter coffee next to the Suomenlinna gift shop, my caffeinated workflow was suddenly interrupted by some shrill high frequencies - namely, two children playing a harmonica. On a whim, I purchased one myself, suddenly curious as to how it would blend with some of the higher partials that I have recently experimented with across other compositional sketches.
The first recording - ‘Harmonica Collage (high)_Feb 11’ is a multitracked compilation of two harmonica stems, to which I limited myself to the higher register.
The second - ‘Harmonica Collage w DB (high)_Feb 12 details my experimentation combining the higher double bass partials (namely artificial harmonics across C, D, E, F, G) with the harmonica tracks.
On first impressions, I am fascinated by the sonic duality and intrigued to explore this further.
Recorded Feb 11th & 12th 2023 @ HIAP **Beyer M160, three tracks
